Band and Music
BAND AND MUSIC ASSOCIATION
The Band And Music Association forms a band of students every year to perform for various programmes of the college.
Aims & Objectives:
- To attune the minds of students towards appreciation of good music
- To form a band of students to sing for various programmes of the College
- To provide opportunities to showcase talents of students in music and singing
- To synchronize music with song and melody
The members of the Music Association have organized the choir for Campus Mass every year for the last six years. They also conducted Carol Singing Competition during Christmas and perform on College Day every year. The Band gave the Guard of Honour for the College Day functions, and helped in the conduct of March Past on Sports Day. During the year 2005-2006, the Music Association arranged the background music during a national workshop – “Tell a Tale” and also for the plays “Ghost Train” and “The Blue Carbunale” put up by the College. In December 2011, they gave the background music for the play “My Fair Lady” put up on College Day.
The Band organized the ‘Band Honours Programme” under the guidance of Mr. Adolph Lobo in 2006-07 and 2008-09. They also conducted an Honours Programme in “Advanced Skills in Musical Instruments” in 2007-2008. They performed the Guard of Honour and played music during an international conference held in the College in February 2010.
