St Agnes College is a Minority Institution, founded primarily for the education of catholic women. Yet from its very inception it has been imparting education to students of all castes and creeds without distinction. Historically it is the first Catholic Women's College established in South India and the second in the country.

The College is affiliated to the Mangalore University and offers Three Year B.A., B.Sc., B.com., and B.B.M. Degree courses. This is supported by various Diploma, Certificate Courses and Honours Programmes.

The college has obtained the status of being "ACCREDITED" at the Five Star level and has secured a grade for quality in Higher Education from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore.

MANAGEMENT:

The Apostolic Carmel is a congregation of sisters aggregated to the Order of Discalced Carmelites, founded in 1868 by Mother Veronica of the Passion at Bayonne and later established at Mangalore, India, in 1870. The sisters of the Apostolic Carmel run this institution.

LOCAL TITLE:

St.Agnes College was registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 under the title 'The Apostolic Carmel Educational Society' on the 12th February 1957.
