INTER-PERSONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR THE OFFICE PRACTICE AND MANAGEMENT STUDENTS

Department of Secretarial Practice organised a workshop on inter-personal skill development for the office practice and management students of i, II & III B.A. on 18th December 2018. It began with a short programme inaugurated by Dr. Shailaja, the Dean of Arts, Mr. John Fernandes, the chief guest and resource person. Mr. Fernandes is the Director, Students Help Centre India & Chief Mentor, Speedex Mentorship Solutions.

The session was interactive and enlightened the students on the essentials of building up positive interpersonal skills and its importance. Students asked questions pertaining to different areas of their life. The resource person shared through demos, matters regarding facing interviews, carrying oneself with dignity, the body language, controlling anxiousness etc. Further, with various examples he focussed their attention on luck Vs destiny and guided them to think wisely while taking decisions. He illustrated these through various real life stories and his personal testimonies. He highlighted the role of values like trust, bond and honesty in building relationships. Activities were conducted to make the session interesting and lively. The workshop concluded with the feedback by two of the students. The final year students, Ms. Edreena Ferrao was the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Jyothika Gopan welcomed and Ms. Aqsa proposed the vote of thanks.
